We have a Citrix Farm that consists of 7 Windows 2003 SP1 servers running Presentation Server 4.0. We have been experiencing major printing issues since the onset of the project. We have been experieincing the following 2 issues. Any suggestions for either issue is GREATLY appreciated.

1) Print Spooler Service randomly crashes and restarts (sometimes doesn't restart)
2) Users log in, start thier applications, and thier local printers are not available or created

I would check to see what printer drivers you have loaded, That is the problem 98% of the time. Either remove the drivers one at a time till its stable, or remove all of them, then RE-add one at a time till you find the one or more that are causing problems. For those printers, set them to use the UPD (Universal Print driver).

In fact on our servers we rely on UPD and don't allow any other drivers on the servers aside from the HP LaserJet 4 and DeskJet 550C.
