5 Min Idle Time OUT????

We have a citrix published application that one of our clients logs in and runs. IF the client lets the PC and application be idle for 5 minutes they get disconnected and have to log back in again. We have about 30 different clients running the same application configured in the same manner that do not have this issue. I’ve even set-up this clients published application on a second work PC. I log in and let my PC sit for 20 or 30 minutes and I don’t get disconnected.

Any advice on what this could be. I have no issue with other locations. The it person onsite says there is no time out config on the Router, I think it has to be that the router is shutting down the port and causing it to time out.

Any Ideas

Definately sounds to me as though it is a problem with a timeout. You've checked the users Active Directory profile as well to confirm no timeouts?

You may also want to ensure there is nothing set on the clients NIC to go into power saving mode! I've seen that one before!

I haven't thought of power save mode on the NIC before and we have always had people with timeout issues in the 2 - 5 minute range that we have never been able to diagnose. Most notice "request timed out" errors when running a continuous ping to our router at the time they start dropping which indicates some kind of network issue. Have you had the user try that?
