Protocol Driver Error workaround

Not that fantastic after all. 4 days later and my protocol driver error is back. I have tried clicking on the "Clear SSL State" button but this isn't resolving the problem anymore. Anyone else got any possible workarounds for a non-techie ?

I was getting the same issue for one user only. I disabled her Norton firewall. This didn't fix the problem. I then realized she also had AVG 8.0 firewall installed. I stopped the AVG firewall and this fixed it. She is now running the Norton firewall (and not the AVG firewall), and Citrix WI works.

Smile Protocol Driver Error keeps showing

Citrix not loading because of this "protocol driver error"
In Internet Explorer...windows xp...At first I deleted the cache and cookies and that didnt seem to work. Then I noticed this person getting the error was using IE 7. I checked the IE7 pop up blocker settings...tools>options>privacy>settings>
I added the website they were trying to access to the list of exceptions. I hit ok all the way out. Oh, I also made sure that google pop up blocker or any other pop up blockers were turned off. Closed IE and reopened it. The user tried logging in again and it worked.

We could connect to the Citrix published desktop using an ICA client fine.
We could telnet the Citrix box from DMZ on port 1494 and 3389.
We have a Citrix farm but we only assign this published desktop to one of the Citrix servers.

Environment: Citrix PS 4.0 Enterprise, CSG 3.0, on Windows 2003 SP1.

Please help.

Thanks.

I had the same problem.
I deinstalled the latest version of citrix for client, remove the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data\ICAClient
remove the folder under program files
sweep witch reg.cleaner

and than install an older version, i installed version 6

It works perfect, untill Citrix doesnot come with a patch or wathever
iam not going to use a newer version.

Talking Verification - SSL Clear State works

I finally was able to get my VISTA machine to work with Juniper to connect to my companies VPN so I could access the Citrix Portal. My elation was short lived when I received the Protocol Driver error. After 10 minutes of searching the CITRIX site with no success, I found this forum. It took me all of 10 seconds to clear my Firefox 2.0 SSL State and I was in. Thank you all very much for such an easy fix. Now if CITRIX will simply post this as a fix on their knowledge base.
