Protocol Driver error

Hello, everyone.

Users got this "Protocol Driver error" if they launched the published desktop from a web interface (WI).
We could connect to the Citrix published desktop using an ICA client fine.
We could telnet the Citrix box from DMZ on port 1494 and 3389.
We have a Citrix farm but we only assign this published desktop to one of the Citrix servers.

Environment: Citrix PS 4.0 Enterprise, CSG 3.0, on Windows 2003 SP1.

Please help.

Thanks.

Is this resolved? I was experienced a similar thing launching a published application via CAG.

Here is what I did to resolve the problem:
- Log on to my AAC Server with Administrative rights.
- Increase the ticket timeout value in the web.config file on the Advanced Access Control server. The path to the file is:
C:IntepubwwwrootCitrixAuthServiceWeb.config
- Find lines 104-106 in the web.config file. The default setting for the CGP ticket time is 15 seconds:

<add key="TicketProfile_SGC_HTTP" value="MULTIUSE,15,1200,true,true" />

<add key="TicketProfile_ICA_CGP" value="REVOLVING,15,600,true,true" />

<add key="TicketProfile_ICA_CGP" value="REVOLVING,15,600,true,true" />

- Increase the expiration time from 15 to 85 or to something a bit more suitable for your particular environment. For example:

<add key="TicketProfile_SGC_HTTP" value="MULTIUSE,85,1200,true,true" />

<add key="TicketProfile_ICA_CGP" value="REVOLVING,85,600,true,true" />

<add key="TicketProfile_ICA_CGP" value="REVOLVING,85,600,true,true" />

- Save the web.config file and restart the Advanced Access

We had a SIngle user getting Protocol driver error. All our tests showed no problems, We could telnet from him to port 1494 on our farm. Connectivity was solid and he was the only user receiving it. Turns out he had a personal firewall blocking the citrix client from the internet, but Port 1494 was still open.

Protocol Driver Error

I have historically been able to log in to our Citrix server from home but in the last month have encountered a Protocol Driver Error. I have checked with our server staff and I seem to be the only one having this problem so they do not feel it is the server. I use MSN dial-up on my home pc. I also have Norton Internet Security 2006. I contacted Norton last night. They had me turn off the firewall and try connecting again. I received the same error and they determined it was not Norton causing my problem. I am at a loss as to what to try next.
Any ideas?

Our user had the same issue, even with the firewall off he still go the error, we had to go into the setting and explicitly allow Citrix after it had been blocked. For some reason client couldn't go through even after he claimed to have turned off the firewall

I bought new PC with Windows Vista. After installation I was able to get on Citrix Metaframe server at work. After, after some weeks, something changed, and I am no longer able to get on, and get a driver protocol error. I have turned off my Windows firewall and still no luck.

I have another PC at home with XP through the same internet connection via router and it gets on fine.

vista protocol driver error

Diddo -- Worked on Vista for months, then suddenly stopped. Suspect a Microsoft Security Update caused the problem, but even after uninstalling the updates the problem persists.

Protocol Driver Error workaround

This stated 2 days ago with our remote users. I finally found a workaround until I can figure out what caused this. I went into Internet Options, selected the Content tab and clicked on the Clear SSL State button. It worked for me.

Protocol Driver Error workaround

"I went into Internet Options, selected the Content tab and clicked on the Clear SSL State button"

Fantastic. I started to get this error (out of the blue) a couple of days ago when trying to connect to work. The Citrix techies advised I try a few different things but nothing made any difference. For a complete not technical muppet like myself its a bit scary clicking on a button that says "Clear SSL State" without having a clue what it will do but out of desperation I tried it and it has worked perfectly. I have no idea if I have caused problems elsewhere with my PC but at least I can connect to work again. Many thanks for the advice.
